Philippa studied Fashion design with business studies at the University of Brighton and graduated in 2009, presenting an Autumn/Winter collection at the University’s catwalk show, held during London Graduate Fashion Week, in June 2009.
Philippa’s first collection consisted of a variety of elegant garments ranging from flowing chiffon dresses to draped tailored jackets. Inspired by the cutting techniques of 1920’s couturier Madeline Vionnet, the collection fused soft draping and layering, embellished silk chiffon and lace with hints of tailoring.
Philippa spent two seasons at Temperley London where she was significantly influenced by the classic and feminine nature of Temperley designs and developed a keen eye and taste for high quality fabrics, embellishment, and finishing.
Since 2009 Philippa has worked with a range of designers and creatives, including long term friend Derek Lawlor. Philippa has worked with Derek on four consecutive seasons including Derek’s collaboration with Mari Mekko for AW11.
In 2011 Philippa worked at Maia Norman’s Mother of Pearl before deciding to go solo and launch her own luxury womenswear line. Her experience of the industry has led to her deciding to pursue her long held ambition of launching a luxury womenswear label.
